Descrição:
This dataset compiles the complete results of one hundred Monte Carlo simulations generated by the BiomassSupply-ABM, an agent-based model developed to analyze the dynamics of residual agricultural biomass supply for advanced biofuel production. The model incorporates multiple sources of uncertainty (such as ethanol price volatility and seasonality), agent heterogeneity (including supplier types, cost curves, distances, and biomass quality), and alternative land-structure configurations.
The repository contains two main groups of outputs: (i) descriptive statistics from the Monte Carlo simulations and (ii) econometric results estimated through Tobit models.
The Monte Carlo outputs are organized into four analytical objects of the model — market, farmers, demand, and supply — each containing the variables generated across the five experiments conducted under different land-structure scenarios. These files include productive, financial, behavioral, and price-related indicators, enabling analysis of market evolution, supplier decision-making, and the interactions shaping aggregate supply and demand.
The econometric results derived from the Tobit model are provided in separate files, including full estimates, parameters, standard errors, significance levels, and goodness-of-fit measures. The incorporation of the Tobit estimation stage represented an incremental and essential step in the evolution of the model, allowing for empirical validation of causal relationships suggested by the simulations and strengthening the analytical robustness of the ABM. This component contributed to assessing behavioral patterns, testing hypotheses related to agent heterogeneity, and deepening the understanding of the mechanisms structuring the biomass market.
