Descrição:
This thesis chapter presents the development of a novel bioactive ingredient through an enzymatic reaction designed to generate volatile compounds with both aromatic and functional properties. Using lipase catalysis, esters with potential cosmetic applications were produced, providing fragrance and deodorizing effects. In addition to sensory performance, the resulting product exhibited antimicrobial activity against skin-associated odor-causing microorganisms. The transformed material was directly incorporated into prototype cosmetic formulations, demonstrating applicability without the need for purification steps. This study contributes to the advancement of multifunctional, biotechnology-based ingredients, emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and direct use in natural cosmetic formulations.
